My Journey with Beachbody

I have personally used Beachbody products for several years now, and they work.  I am also a Certified Personal Trainer, and feel both have value.  When you need motivation, accountability, form critique to ensure you are doing the exercises correctly, you need a Personal Trainer.  In between sessions, I recommend these products to keep you moving, and give you additional options.  Boredom can be a major factor in working out consistently, and changing your workout routine from time to time is needed to create that muscle confusion and add variety.

30-Day Raw Food Challenge-Week 4

I can't believe it...the Raw Food Challenge is over!  We did it!!  Thirty days of eating raw vegetables, fruits, nuts, seed, and sprouts....nothing heated over 118 degrees.  The next day, we had blood work done to see the after effects, and you will not believe the results for my client.

Her triglycerides went from 373 to 226 ( a drop of 147 points or 39%)  WOW!  Her final fasting glucose reading was 101 (down from 140), cholesterol went down 17 points, TSH dropped too low to .14 (she's on thyroid medication and is now reducing the dosage 75% after talking with her physician), and dropped 3 pounds and 1-3/4"  from her abdomen.  Amazing results for 30 days!

30-Day Raw Food Challenge-Week 3

This is the end of week 3 of our 30-Day Raw Food Challenge.  I thought this would be the hardest week, but it has flown by.  My client is counting down the days to the end.  She is craving some hot food, but has promised me she will slowly add cooked foods back in so she doesn't have a bad reaction.  She has also committed to eating 50-70% raw daily after the Raw Food Challenge to continue to see improvements.  Her blood pressure and resting heart rates are still looking good, and her fasting glucose is now steady in the 112-115 range.  We're hoping to continue to see this drop next week; however, I believe the additional work-related stress this week has slowed it down.

30-Day Raw Food Challenge-Week 2

This is the end of week 2 of our 30-Day Raw Food Challenge.  Fatigue and motivation were factors that came into play more as my client's blood glucose levels oscillated up and down between 104-128, and one day spiked to 192.   Before the challenge started, they were fairly stable at 138-140; and this caused some frustration.  This is a part of the body's healing process as it attempts to stabilize and heal, and she has been in contact with her physician to keep them in the loop. She won't give up, and I'm very proud of her for taking on this challenge to be healthier.

30-Day Raw Food Challenge-Week 1

Overview

As a Health Coach, I need to be a nutrition expert, wellness authority, and supportive mentor.  I also need to continue to improve my own health, and that's one of the reasons I chose to complete this 30-day raw food challenge with a client of mine.  It gives me an insider's view of what it takes to complete the challenge, the ups and downs associated with it, and provides an accountability partner for my client.

RAW Food - More Than Just Rabbit Food

In January, 2011, I will be assisting 1-4 people in completing a Raw Food Challenge.  After seeing the movie 'Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days', I wanted to try this in our local community for those interested to eliminate/reduce the medications they were on.  One friend is diabetic and wants to get off all her medications.  Tonight she came over, and we tried two recipes from the book 'Raw Food Made Easy For 1 or 2 People' by Jennifer Cornbleet (She also has a DVD).  These were the Ranch Dressing and Pasta with Marinara Sauce.  I will attach the YouTube videos on how to prepare them below.
